Makaany is currently offered exclusively in Germany and Austria.
What does “halal-compliant” mean at Makaany?
We list businesses and offers that, in our view, are compatible with generally recognised halal principles. Every listing is reviewed against our content and platform guidelines before it is added. Makaany is a curated discovery platform – not an independent certification body – and cannot guarantee that every offer meets individual religious requirements. Please verify details yourself where needed.
What can I do in the app?
Discover places and shops, view details, upload photos, save favourites and leave reviews. Businesses can manage their listing and increase their visibility.
How do I find the right places?
Via search, categories, map or list. You can look for places nearby and filter what interests you.
What are Highlights?
Highlights are featured listings and offers – a quick overview of recommended places and shops.
Do I need an account?
Often not for browsing. For favourites, reviews and business features you need an account.
Can I save places?
Yes. With an account you can create favourites and find them again later.
Can I leave reviews?
Yes. With an account you can leave reviews and photos. Contributions are reviewed before they become visible.
Are there online stores too?
Yes. Alongside local places you will also find offers available online.
Can I list my business?
Yes. In the business area you can create your business or claim and manage an existing listing.
Can I book or pay in Makaany?
No. Makaany is a discovery app. Bookings and purchases take place outside the app with the respective business.
Is there a chat?
No. There is currently no chat between users.
Can I block other users?
Yes. With an account you can open a public profile and choose Block. The list is under Account → Manage account → Blocked Users. You can unblock from there.
Why does Makaany ask for my location?
So we can show you places nearby. You can change location access anytime in your device settings.
Why does Makaany ask for notifications?
So we can inform you about news and important updates. You can change notifications anytime in your device settings.
What languages is Makaany available in?
Currently in German and English.
Where can I get help?
For questions, reach us via support in the app or at makaany.com/support.
Delete account and data
You can request deletion of your Makaany account and associated personal data directly in the app or through support.
In the app
- Open the account settings.
- Select “Delete account”.
- Confirm the displayed steps.
Through support
Email support@makaany.com from the address linked to your account using the subject “Delete account”.
What is deleted?
After you delete your account, personal data associated with your account will generally be deleted within 30 days, unless statutory retention obligations or other legally permissible grounds require longer storage.
